Impact of climatic variability on growth performance of Fogera cattle in Northwestern Ethiopia

This study aimed to assess the impact of climatic variability on growth performance Fogera cattle at Metekel breeding and multiplication ranch. About 15-years meteorological data were collected from National Meteorological Agency. Then, heat stress (HS) condition ranch location was calculated by temperature-humidity index (THI). Moreover, all animals born calves that weaned 2005 2019 included in this study. Seasons years birth fitted as predictors, while parameters response variables. Data analyzed least-squares means analysis variance using R software version 3.5.2 program. a multiple linear regression model also used. The trends weight (BW) weaning (WW) significantly decreasing along period. result indicated relative humidity ambient temperature coefficient negative for BW WW. Pearson correlation there relationship between When THI increases 67 72, WW decreased 3.5 25 kg, respectively.
